Inside, formal details,
such as columns that set off the entrance foyer, living and
dining rooms, grace the open, flowing floor plan. Fireplaces
warm both the living room and the family room, which has a
vaulted semi-octagonal ceiling. French doors lead from the
great room and dining room to a rear terrace. The master bedroom
also accesses the terrace, and the large master bath features
a luxurious corner tub. Two additional bedrooms share a second
bath in the same private wing.

Cased openings throughout the first floor allow flowing accessibility
between rooms. Projecting glassed-in areas and French doors
provide a strong relationship with the outdoors. The stairway
to the second floor is bathed in natural light from the arched
window at the landing. Two of the upstairs bedrooms share a
bath, while the third bedroom has an adjoining bath, making
it ideal for a guestroom. |

Contrasting materials of stone, stucco and wood sheath the Rockford.
This one-level home plan derives its rustic flavor from the
combination of exterior materials and simplicity of design.
The use of multipaned, double-hung windows and over-window moldings
reinforce the casual look. |
